Land Rover has released two images of the new fifth-generation Discovery, which certainly will enliven the automotive world, with the latest models and minimalist design will certainly make the automotive world increasingly tight competition. This one product in the estimate will have its first public outing at the Paris Motor Show later this month.
Teaser pictures show only the head-on view of a full-sized, seven-seat 4x4 that will make the rider freely in it. This limited view shows that the new Discovery - The first generation went on sale in 1989 - will be less boxy than its predecessors. A wide body tapers slightly towards the bottom of the roof, with vertical sides less than before.
We can also see a new grille, mounted high on the nose and shallower than before, flanked by LED lights. front foglights have also been eliminated, replaced instead by a vertical air intakes in the bumper unit, while skidplates protruding front, stressing the continuation of the rough, off-road character of Discovery. So for fans of Land Rover fanatic there's no reason not to immediately have this one product.
This is Land Rover Pictures Gallery:
What we do know is that the new Discovery will use the same aluminium chassis used for the current Range Rover, which hints at the car being somewhat lighter than the current generation, making it more economical.
We also expect much of the technology fitted to modern Land Rover models, including the semi-autonomous driving technologies recently added to the revised Range Rover Sport and the In Control Touch Pro connectivity system.
We also expect Land Rover’s 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel to be part of the engine line-up.
With all the indications pointing towards a more upmarket car, prospective purchasers and current Discovery owners looking to upgrade should be prepared for a price hike – but we’ll know more after the world premiere on 28 September.
